About Me
Welcome! I am so glad you are here.
My name is Jaclyn, and I have been a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia, Canada for the past 5 years. I received my Masters of Counselling Psychology (MCP) from Adler University in 2019, and have been practicing with a wide range of clients and diverse issues ever since.
Through my time as a counsellor, I have become passionate about working with women who experience a wide range of difficulties, including but not limited to: stress, anxiety, difficult life transitions, relationship issues, and trauma. Together, we can work on developing new skills and strategies, while addressing the root causes of your symptoms.
Therapeutic Style
In determining which counsellor is right for you, you should know a little bit about their therapeutic style. I primarily use a person-centered approach, while mixing in aspects of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) when and where it applies. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that focuses on the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. This approach helps you to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviours, and also offers tools and strategies to manage emotions. Essentially, CBT helps you to change the way you think in order to change the way you feel.
Overall, I am here to be an empathetic and supportive facilitator, while letting you lead the way on your healing journey. I strive to create a warm and genuine therapeutic relationship that allows you the space and comfort you need to share your unique story. I also seek to offer you new suggestions on strategies, and to help you develop new coping skills that fit your specific needs. If this sounds up your alley, let’s set up a free consultation! I would love to answer any questions you may have.
